November 28th, 2010: BlackCube v0.3 beta ¶

BlackCube v0.3 beta is available for download! A free, simple image viewer in Lightbox style…

• Simplicity

  

  Images will be shown elegantly in a Lightbox-style way. The background will be dimmed and you can enjoy the image without any distractions.

• Presentation

  

  You can navigate through images either using the arrow keys or using the corresponding buttons.

• Copy path

  

  Show info panel by clicking on the image. Click on the file name to copy full image path.

The future

• BlackCube lacks some image editing features like flipping, rotating, small image adjustments, etc…
• More information on the info panel. Dimensions, size, camera, etc…
• Something that annoys me is the flicker which appears when I show the info panel. Can be possibly solved by hardware accelerated rendering.
• Maybe I’ll rewrite this using WPF, so I can use hardware acceleration to render animations, shadow and image. But it is more difficult than you may imagine. You have other controls with other properties which behave slightly (well, completely) different than System.Windows.Forms.
